How to get in and out of your kayak from shore

We show you here how to use your paddle to stabilize you and your boat while getting in from shore. To get out of your kayak again, just reverse the entire process seen here.

  1. Align your kayak parallel to the shore
  2. Place your paddle just behind your cockpit with one blade extended towards and resting on shore.  Ensure that the powerface (concave curved side of blade) is facing up.
  3. Using both hands to put pressure on the paddle shaft and boat, step and slide into boat while putting your weight towards the paddle blade resting on shore.
  4. Take the time to adjust your foot pedals, seat and attach your skirt before you paddle away.

Have fun and see you out on the water!
